Part 13 - LCD front panel
Nothing new in the beginning - cutting, drilling, sanding� The back side of the panel is made from 3 mm green acrylic. The front side is from 3 mm black, mirrored:
This is the panel, covering the electronics box which will house the LCD and HDD activity meter. The openings are cut with cutting drill bit. The technique for cutting is this: fist, you make holes in the two ends of the cut. Then you start cutting, taking not more than 1 mm of the material at a time. Gradually the material gets thinner and at the end you cut through the whole of it.

This happens when you don�t pay attention. The bit not only cuts, but also gets rather hot. If you are not careful you can rather deep cuts :)
