Page 8 of 12 Dark Energy „Please, stay away from electrified rails, and proceed to an emergency station until assistance arrives.” Half-Life
The work was going well, for a mere year i did alot. It was time to take care for the scanner's lighting. Yes, the original City 17 scanners have a single “lamp” on top of the frame unlike my webcam. So i decided to connect one more led and extend some wires for it out of the main body. Donor for the new body of that led was part of the aluminum shaft from the web cleaner.

The led along with a plastic reflector i got from a busted lighter.

I also decided to move the sensor for ambient lighting of the webcam, becouse you see on the place it was mounted it often gave wrong readings and i was unable to find drivers that allow me to disable the webcam lights. I also got the integrated microphone extended out of the body of the webcam (but not out of the main body).

So at the end i got six cables, therefore i bore trough the webcam body opening for them. And used some of the sleeving kit for two of the pairs.
While for the microphone and the sensor i just soldered few wires for the led i did something else – i wired it paralel to one of the other led's. Looking at the scanner right now i'm not sure to which one. Painted also the body, the plastic cap holding the cam and one of the plastic barrier.
