Page 4 - Final words and conclusions

This was to be the place for all remarks about the monitor for which we had no place elsewhere. In the end there is only two irritating facts to be put in this passage - utterly insignificant, still worth noting. The first one is that the guide is worthless. Then again who reads them? Still i had a silly problem - the monitor isn't sensing on which input is the signal fed to him. It's probably on purpose - so if you feed it through Dub9 and HDMI, to be capable of choosing either, still with a single feed, he should be able to show you just it. Upon initial powering up of the computer with Belinea o.display 4_24" there was no picture. The guide had nothing to say about it and as it turned out it was necessary to pick from which input is the signal fed (and as ridiculously as it is by default, dub9 is expected). The second thing is that when the computer is powered down or when after a period of inactivity the monitor goes in stand-by, the monitor keeps shining in bright blue for about 20-30 seconds. This is annoying, especially when you have left your PC on at night and decide to go to bed, 10-15 minutes later the monitor will go in stand-by, thus lighting up the place :)

But aside of that here is a resume of the main advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages:
  • HUGE!
  • AWESOME stand with infinite positioning options
  • Great picture for a TN+FILM matrix
  • Can be fed through HDMI with HDCP
  • Nice build-in speakers
  • Long warranty (3 years).
  • Great price for all that you get from o.display 4_24" (a tad above 800 leva (~400 Euro) for a end user)
Disadvantages:
  • Lack of colour choice and design (Belinea's b.line has it, but the biggest monitor there is just 22")
  • Lack of USB on the monitor
  • Lack of picture profiles

In conclusion we'll simply say that if the appearance of o.display 4_24" and the other more of insignificant disadvantages does not bother you, that is a highly recommended choice. Very few similarly placed gadgets give as much for a buck as 24" widescreen monitor nowadays and Belinea with o.display 4_24" did do that for more than acceptable price in that class.

Many thanks to our partners - Solytrade, suppliers of that lovely o.display 4_24" for this review, in their capacity of main importer of Belinea products for Bulgaria.
