Page 4 - Installing, test system and methodology

On to installing the hardware. We begin with the PSU. Unlike with other cases, here we don't have a removable back plate, i.e. the PSU have to be inserted from the front. That however is not a problem, since the case is big and there are no obstructions in its way:

There is a significant place between the motherboard back plate and the right panel, that allows you to hide lot's of cables having in this way very tidy case. many cable sorting aids are provided too. Additional space is provided by the factory formed (outwards) cover as you can see from previous pictures. Another interesting element here is the opening directly behind the CPU – it allows you to mount and unmount coolers that have back plate without removing the motherboardтова. Your safety have also being assured too - the opening is fitted with plastic edge so not to cut your fingers:

As you might have notices the motherboard back plate is non-removable. Well, that's not necessary at all, considering the vast volume of the case – there is plenty of room to work safely even with frequent hardware changes:

Every front panel cable can be hidden behind the motherboard, there is also space between the PSU and the motherboard allowing you to hide even more:

Time to put in the disk drives and finish with attaching cables:

Here is the finished product:

And here it is fully operational:

Test configuration and methodology

  • CPU: Intel C2D Е4500 @ 3.3 GHz
  • Motherboard: ASUS P5K-E WiFi
  • Video card: Albatron NVidia 8800 GT
  • Hard drive: Maxtor 250 GB
  • PSU: CoolerMaster Real Power 1000W

We executed two groups of two tests: in Idle mode and under full load of the CPU and Gpu. Both groups of tests were concluded INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the case.

Testing in IDLE mode, was done by leaving the machine at Windows desktop for about 10 minutes with no other programs running. For tests under load we gathered results from RealTemp 2.70 (the most adequate program for obtaining temperatures of 45nm Intel processor for now), after 30 minutes of running OCCT 2.0. Results you see are degrees centigrade ABOVE ROOM TEMPERATURE, this way the eliminating the influence of ambient conditions and get better results. This way assuming the room temperature to be 20 degrees and the table shows value of 15 degrees, that means the actual temperature was 35 degrees.
