Page 5 - Sound
As for sound, Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 are of a decent quality, common for some high class headphones as far as the price is concerned, but they are definitely far from the professional headphones. Being open type of headphones, they have good quality sound. Dynamic characteristics are on the level, for this class of headphones. But with open type headphones the main problem is that they are quite loud and should you use them with other people in the room they will be quite audible even if you don't juice them up much. main disadvantage of Sonar 5.1 is that the back speakers are placed too close. The front ones more or less do give the feeling that they are somewhere in front of you, while the back ones feel almost at the same place. Cyber Snipa did attempt to fix this by placing them at angle, yet the effect isn't good enough. The hardest thing indeed is accurately representing sound coming directly behind you.
Music
For music Sonar 5.1 are nice and rate a average. Good volume, quality sound, bass is on the level, even though it can't be too strong. As whole the problems here are the noise outside the headphones and the need of precise setting for acquiring good sound.
Movies
In the movies the sound is about average too. Definitely better than with mere stereo headphones with Dolby Surround, but again the volume is a problem here. They just can't accurately recreate the sound of a good 5.1 audio system, placed in a reasonably large room. Again the bass is too weak and movie sound do depend on it a lot. Despite all this the headphones are good for movies, even if not a match for a decent audio system.
Games
Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 was tested with different games, all of which are known with fine 5.1 sound implementation, in order to see how would they fare compared to audio system. The only problem here is yet again the inability to accurately represent a sound coming directly behind you. It's just that if sound comes directly from the back it is a tad hard to be sure if you haven't closely monitored its source before that. That aside, the 5.1 sound with Sonar is very good in games, and compared to a ordinary set of headphones and software surround, the feeling is ever so close to the one from a normal audio system. The "Gaming Headphones" description of Sonar from Cyber Snipa is absolutely correct, this is the thing at which they excel. In games depending on 6 channel sound, they are clear advantage against other gamers. Another advantage - unlike with conventional audio system the speakers are close to your ears and the sounds are loud and clear.
Microphone
Nothing much to be said about the microphone, it is a high quality one, with loud and clear sound, and the flexible arm i s a quite useful.
