Page 11 - Performance: Furmark
Furmark is quite well accepted OpenGL test for stability with the computer enthusiasts. Besides stability, the benchmark has different modes for testing performance. Though no one is going to "play" Furmark and the result give us not that clear ideas about the performance of the cards in real situations, it was still interesting to see the latest generation of video chips compete in this OpenGL race.
Results we got are after testing for 60 secconds.

With heavier testing modes, namely at 1280x1024 and 1680x1050, with 4xMSAA, MSI R4870-OC & MSI R4870 do just as good (or even better) as GeForce 280GTX. At 1920x1200 we tested without Antialiasing and got totally different results - definitely the GeForce series cards, as well as the ATI Crossfire (in the face of HD3870X2) had the upper edge.
