We always sympathized to companies with good marketing departments and aggressive market strategy. A bright example for this are Jetway and their Kuroshio BI-100 motherboard, based on the popular P35 chipset. Let's see exactly what we're getting for the... well, economical price.

For some days now I'm feeling something more like urge than a real necessity to replace my obsolete 945P chipset motherboard with something new. And since I'm a budget user... or rather I'm not, considering the previous statement (though that's another thing altogether...), I was looking at Intel P31 chipset motherboards. Due to unfortunate circumstances I didn't get the Gigabyte P31-DS3L i ordered. Displeased with life itself, today i dug in the price lists and came across the well known to most of us Jetway I35P-SG. It's price though was not to my liking so i dug deeper. This time, to my surprise i found something that might be of interest to most hardware enthusiasts with shallow pockets. They all had dreamed for a product that has all they need. No more, no less.

For quite few years now Jetway are building a image of a company that has quality products at reasonable prices. Of course, the lower price does come after sacrificing something, but luckily for us sacrifices here were made in the bundle of the motherboard, not in it.

What i stumbled upon today is called Jetway Kuroshio BI-100.

In short: P35 chipset motherboard without RAID. At the price of 110 leva (~55 Euro) for the end user. The more informed amongst you know this is in the same price range as P31 and the older 965 chipsets. That is exactly why this motherboard caught my eye.

An hour later i had the Jetway Kuroshio BI-100 in my hands and the old Jetway 945P4-G was swiftly cast away.
