Today we present to you our review of the MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard and the 790FX+SB600 chipset. As one of the leading motherboard manufacturers, MSI offers a high end solution targeting the enthusiasts, this motherboard combines the newest technologies on the market, ones such as AM2+ socket, PCI-E 2.0, HyperTransport 3.0, two PCI-E 16x and two PCI-E 8x slots that grants you the ability to create a Quad-CrossFire system.
MSI K9A2 Platinum review
MSI K9A2 Platinum is anything else but lacking features. The motherboard is based on the relatively new AMD North bridge - 790FX and SB600 South bridge. The combination of the two supports HT 3.0, Dual-channel DDR2 (up to 1066MHz and 8GB for all the slots at once). It has two PCIe 2.0 16x slots, two PCIe 8x, one PCIe 1x and two old-fashioned PCI slots.
