age 2 - MSI N9600GT-OC T2D512 from up close
MSI N9600GT-OC T2D512 comes with the same bundle as MSI 8800 GT/GTS. In the big briefcase like cardboard box, along with the card you'll find power cables (just in case your PSU is a bit older and has no 6 pin connectors), DVI>DSUB9 adapter, DVI>HDMI adapter, installation instructions, booklet with more detailed information about the card, CD with drivers and software, CD with Lord of the Rings Online (and a key for 14 day trial) and disk with the full Colin McRea Rally DiRT.
Now that's what we're talking about! The card in all its glory... As you can see from the pictures, the cooler is quite massive and has little in common with the referent NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT one. The plastic shell is there not only for the purpose of pleasing the eye, but to channel the heated air out of the case too. As it's obvious not only the cooler is non-referent, the PCB is too, with a pleasant red colour, typical MSI colour to be sure.
On the pictures above you can see the cards outputs - two DVI and a single S-VIDEO. We also made some more "intimate" shots of the cooler...
Looking at the price of the bundle alone and the well looking cooler, MSI N9600GT-OC T2D512 seems as great buy even now. Despite this there is no way to be sure before we check that with real applications, but first we'll show you how we did the testing...
