Page 13 - Conclusion

Pros

  • Big overclock capability
  • High quality
  • Good performance
  • Huge bundle, additional software ans stuff
  • Could use UEFI BIOS
  • Awesome power saving technologies
  • Big heatpipe chipset cooling
  • Support of balanced Crossfire with 2x PCI-E 2.0 8x

Cons

  • Performance is as with the cheaper P35 motherboard

Bottom line is that MSI P45 Platinum is a good product supplying everything it claims it does. The motherboard has big overclock potential and has almost everything a overclocker could ask for. It sells for about the same as any competitor with the same chipset and bundle - at about 240$. You do get awesome bundle though, additional software and stuff - sure, a software for easier flashing of the BIOS would be nice too, but hen again MSI are the only company supplying working UEFI solution for their motherboards in this class at present. So, we have no choice but to award the deserved 8.5/10 points and the "Recommended" status.
