Page 3 - Installation

With coolers targeting the hardware and gaming enthusiast consumer groups and/or with this size, a steady fitting system is needed. This most often means a bracket, which goes under the motherboard, and which the cooler screws onto through the holes that go around the socket. That's the case here, but unlike most big coolers, the installation of Noctua NH-C12P is rather pleasant. Even if you're a rookie, if you pay attention to the manual, in a few minutes this cooler will shine on your motherboard. And if you're a bit skilled, you may even dump the manual...yes it's that intuitive. The same goes for NH-U12P, but as for the recently tested Cooler Master Hyper Z600 well it was unpleasant compared to these.

The easy fixture method doesn't compensate for stability, quite the contrary in fact. Also the relatively low profile and low weight of 550 grams are fully acceptable and safe, so you don't have to worry if one day you'll be w/o a motherboard if you bump the PC case slightly. Now let's see how the cooler fares in real tests :)
