Windows 7!!!

The release of the new generation of AMD cards in the form of HD4800 and GT200 for NVIDIA was rather interesting event, since the both companies were preparing new cores for their cards, cores promising ultra-high performance and even better price /performance ratios. The competing models were released almost simultaneously, thus raising many eyebrows with the obvious question behind this act - how do they compare to each other? Since they are interesting to the end user even by themselves alone, they are also destined to determine how much would the price of the older, very successful AMD HD3870 / HD3850 and NVIDIA 8800, 9600 and 9800 models drop. And here are we today about to test the highest NVIDIA model that was released quite recently, namely - the GeForce 280GTX 1GB, represented by MSI N280GTX SUPER OC - one of the most overclocked 280GTX cards on the market. |

The last two years were extremely rough for AMD. The company began trailing a lot behind Intel with their brilliant Core 2 processor, and if that wasn't enough, upon acquiring ATI, things didn't work out with video cards either. When at the end of 2006 NVIDIA came with its G80 core and the DirectX 10 videocards based on it, AMD had nothing, and the released six month later 2900 series cards were performing similarly to 8800GTX. The end of 2007 gave AMD a bit of breather thanks to HD3850 and HD3870, but even then NVIDIA managed to shine with its new G92 core and the 8800GT and 8800GTS 512MB cards based on it. But enough of the past, there are two more, new cores from AMD and NVIDIA. Now let's see how do they fare compared to each other. |

A little mote than a week. That's how much time i needed to test the fans and gather my thoughts in order to write this review. And the Gelid Solutions Silent 12 fan themselves (the name being derivative from the Latin „gelidus” meaning cold, ice cold) turned out to be extraordinary product that, to be honest, i liked very much.

Through this year we witnessed the return of a certain new class of devices – the small fully functional mobile computers or in other words the “subnotebooks”. We got to play around quite seriously with one representative of the class in question - namely the MSI Wind. Well now, impressed as we are let's see how much of „Atom” performance is hidden in its stylish design and miniature size.

Memory is one of the three major performance factors in gaming PCs - the other two are VGA and CPU. A-Data are one of the biggest manifacturers of memory in the world with a whole line of products targeting the hardware and gaming enthusiasts most commonly reffered with the title "overclockers". When we tested Noctua NH-U12P, we were left with the impression, that it's a great solution for all hardware enthusiasts who love silence. But now Noctua sent us NH-C12P - a cooler which targets the overclockers consumer group, but with even lower profile, with even more heat pipes, looking cooler than NH-U12P. All that's left now is to have a closer look and see how it fares in terms of efficiency versus it's predecessor and few other coolers. |

When you're looking for a silent cooler for your high-end PC or you want to overclock your CPU to it's maximum sooner or later you'll find yourself buying an expensive water based cooling system or a huge heat pipe cooler. In these days coolers like these are becoming easier to find. Some brands are a bit more interesting to the consumers though, because of their high availability, good reputation and balanced price (if possible), and that's the case with Cooler Master and their new cooler Hyper Z600, which very recently became available. |
