When we speak of ultra-high class computer, we usually refer to one with motherboard having the latest chipset, multiple core processor, fast memory, video cards in SLI or CrossFire mode and fast hard drives - all of them quite expensive and power hungry. But the backbone of any computer is the PSU, and the responsibility for the well being of all that hardware costing thousands of dollars lies squarely on its shoulders. Yes, no doubt about it, choosing the right PSU is very important, so today we will be talking about one such top-class PSU. One that can improve the overclock results of an hardware enthusiast due to its enormous power and extremely stable voltages or to provide inner peace to the fellow that poured the money equivalent of half new car into computer. In other words - today we're reviewing Raptoxx Exxtreme 1200W - modular PSU with power efficiency rating over 80% for maniacs.
Raptoxx are relatively new German brand with aggressive marketing strategy that has throughout the last few years produced various computer products, all known for their high quality and excellent price/ abilities ratio at that. The company's major product focus is on PSU's, that have been separated in four series, each compliant with ATX 2.2 standard and a whole bunch of other quality, safety and reliability standards. The rande of their models varies between 300W and 1200W. Professional Series are mainstream PSU's with great price, that have great reliability and looks. Advance are targeted at the serious users with models up to 750W, 140mm noiseless fan, while still having price more lucrative than competitors products. AdvancePlus are PSU's with Bronze energy efficiency status, which translates as energy efficiency over 82% in losd tests at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the manufacturer declared PSU capacity. The highest Raptoxx PSU class is Exxtreme, known for their incompromising modes ranging from 620W to 1200W, with energy efficiency over 80%, modular cables and two fans - 140mm and 80mm one, usinf the Silencium technology for providing abqolute quietness. Raptoxx gave us their best model for reviewing - RT-1200EBAD with power of 1200W.
