Synthetic benchmarking was left for the end. The truth is, as more people realize, that these test are highly overrated. Years ago, when versions 99 and 2001 of the well known 3DMark started to become popular as private gaming tests, and a high score at them was symbol for good gaming controller, the companies decided to optimize their drivers and chipsets, to prove themselves in all of the “categories” of the latest 3DMark version.
Not many people part with hundreds, even thousands USD for a video controller and adequate configuration, with which to only play 3DMark. And they are still around! And even if you are not one of them, you still want to know how your expensive video controller copes with 3DMark, also would like to be one of the best in you rank of video controller/computer system. Now, after we showed how the controllers manage with one of the best and heaviest games, we would not dare miss the opportunity to enjoy the results from the synthetic tests:
