Page 7 - Unreal Tournament 3

Unreal Tournament 3! The third establishment of the popular and highly anticipated Unreal Tournament franchise. The game is based on Unreal 3.0 engine and supports hardware Physics Processing. The engine could be described in one word – beautiful. There is only one thing to add, only few amusements in front of the computer are equal to a network game with friends of Unreal Tournament, and on the other hand, this was the only game playable fluently on maximum settings at 1680x1050, even with Antialiasing on!

Unreal 3.0 also is the base of many other titles – you probably have already experienced its capabilities in Bioshock and Gears of War, one of the most expected titles, next to Unreal Tournament 3 this year.

For testing we used a tool, we found in Guru3D – Unreal Tournament 3 Benchmark. But we found a nasty problem with it, it didn’t had Antialiasing setting. Due to the vast difference of Antialiasing settings in the NVIDIA’s and ATI’s control panel, we couldn’t be absolutely sure in the tests equivalence. So we set all to Application Controlled (which means Antialiasing off). The screenshots you see are from the vCTF Corruption Fly mode timedemo.

From the observed we can say that it is no problem to use even higher resolution than 1680x1050 if your display supports it or use 4x or 8x Antialiasing and Supersampling Antialiasing and enjoy the difference.
