Extras and eyecandy
Nowadays extra weights are becoming a standard for every self respecting gaming mouse. Te extra weight gives extra acceleration and greater control. But due to the fact that preferences in this area are rather personals, the manufacturers provide separate weights with which you can fine tune your mouse according to your likeness.
This is the extra weight box. The weights are 7, according to the manufacturer with total weight of 40 grams. It seems they used some pretty precise scales to measure every weight and obviously they have very good quality control. Foolishness aside, every weight is about 5.5 grams:
After an half an hour struggle we managed to open the weight compartment of the mouse itself. After that we had no further problems with opening/closing it. Here are some documental photos of the process:
Now, time for some eyecandy. The MSI logo is lighted. As far as we saw, the backlit is made from a single three-color LED. Its colors change fluently from one to another, which creates a rather interesting effect. The colors themselves are: green, red and blue. The intensity of the light is well chosen and doesn’t irritate your eyes in the dark and on the whole the effect is rather nice:
Here is a short film displaying the lighting effect:
The mode switch (triangle, marked with the letter G) also is with color LED. The colors are three – the same as the number of modes – blue, green, red. Its light pulsates nice and soft in the dark:
And finally – the resolution switch. It is provided by a small trapeze button, bearing with pride the letter “T”. Amazing but true! The different resolutions are market with different colours of scroller backlit. And the surprise! The colors again are the same, but there is a fourth mode, which has no backlit. So we get the following resolutions: without backlit – 400 dpi; green – 800 dpi; blue – 1600 dpi; red – 2400 dpi:
And some animated pictures of the lights:
