The thermal compound, as insignificant component as it may seem, has in fact very significant impact in high performance configurations. Every respectful overclocker seeks the best mix there is. Today we test one such grease – the Tuniq TX-2, which impressed us very much. Why we say we are impressed, read on to find out.

Nowadays we witness ever higher thermal output form the contemporary processors, but even the best cooling there is are not effective without quality thermal connection between processor and the base of the cooling. And here is the role of the thermal compounds, they provide flawless contact by filling all imperfections in the two surfaces. The thermal compounds are particularly significant for good overclock and even small differences between two greases can lead to higher overklock frequencies.

Tuniq is a subdivision of Sunbeamtech , which makes the cooling, case and power supplies enthusiast series. In Bulgaria this brand is not particularly known, but still can be found in some stores, even if it is difficult. Tuniq were kind enough to provide several samples of their TX-2 thermal grease, which we compared with the best competition on the market here. We must state here, that TX-2 is non-conductive thermal grease. We will compare it with the best from both worlds – conductive and non-conductive thermal greases. The price of Tuniq TX-2 in western stores is about 4.29$ (purely for comparison, the same stores sell AC MX-2 for 5.99$).
