Page 3 - Installation
Products like Cooler Master Hyper Z600 usually come with a manual when it comes to installation. Although the installation of a cooler isn't usually "rocket science", when it comes to a bulky cooler like this one, installation requires the PC to be disassembled and the cooler to be fixed to it with special fittings, which are completely unique for each product. This cooler makes no difference.
Installing the Hyper Z600 is harder than any cooler we have reviewed here. Specifically for the LGA775 socket the procedure is as follows. You screw in two planks on the radiator. Each of those planks is meant to pass through 2 of the 4 the holes in the motherboard. Onto each plank we screw in reverse screws. On the bottom side of the motherboard we screw in a X-Shaped plank. We set the cooler on the MB so the screws can pass through the holes. We screw nuts onto them with the wrench included in the kit. Because of the reverse threading of the screws they don't become undone when we screw in the nuts from above.
In theory that should be a straightforward process, but because of it's dimensions it's no small task if you're trying to NOT brake something.
The last two pictures show 2 main things. On one hand we see how majestic the Z600 looks inside the box (or outside it), and on the other how dangerous moving the box w/o being careful would be. The chances of ending with a hole in the place of the socket aren't that big, but the chance of some damage is still real.
