Through the last month we, here at ModReactor had reviewed a series of gaming products, since the peripheral devices and mostly the mice, keyboards and headphones are one of the most important components providing pleasant and comfortable interaction with the computer. This time in the focus of out attention is the Everglide DKTBoard gaming keyboard, made in a joint effort with the legendary gaming products manufacturer Razer and bearing the Powered by Razer logo

In the last decade the "gaming" grew to be a very popular activity. Billions of dollars worth of hardware sales are made each year. And since the hardware manufacturers like to keep their pockets full, game developers are trying harder and harder to create stunning and realistic games with huge hardware requirements. These games are made by huge teams (unlike the good old days when the best games were made by teams of 2-3 man)... An of course there are tournaments with vast price funds, to assure the existence of the gaming peripherals market niche. In the last few years we witness a boom in companies specializing in gaming peripherals, but it was a single company that stepped forward and became the crème de la crème in this industry. Anyone in search of the best, sooner or later discovers the Razer products. And this is the reason why our expectation went sky high when we received the Everglide DKTBoard and find out it bears the "Powered by Razer" logo. Even though Everglide are not exactly new to this business. The company was founded in 1997 and had specialized in computer accessories ever since.

DKTBoard on the other hand does have a previous embodiment. But this new version of the keyboard is improved since Everglide and Razer had joined forces in creating something really good. The keyboard is presented as professional, aluminum, gaming product. Yet as always we at ModReactor will first concentrate on what the manufacturing company claims the product offers, what the user might be looking for and last but not least what the product really supplies. All we'll say for now is that in the end the Everglide DKTBoard tests swoe results not meeting the expectations.

Here is a short list of the keyboard features:

  • Ultra Slim Design
  • Durable Aluminum Top Case
  • Instant Response Keycap Structure
  • Soft Touch And Tactile Feedback
  • Optional Backlight Illumination With ON/OFF Switch
  • 8 One-touch Multimedia Hot Keys
  • Compact, Space-Saving Layou

System requirements

  • Windows 2000/XP/x64/Vista
  • 1 x USB 1.1/2.0 Port
